Parents Matching Convocation #5. Washington, DC

05/23/2008 - 12:00am

All parents with Second Generation eligible for matching are encouraged to attend this event.

Spaces may be limited. May 23-25. Washington, DC.

Details are available on the BFD website (http://www.familyfed.org/bfd)

or through your BFD Representative.

This is the second of four Matching Convocations to be held in 2008. They will also be held in Chicago at the end of July and on the East Coast at the end of October. With several thousand Second Generation of matching age in America, these gatherings are invaluable to learn about the tradition and process, to network with other families, and to renew old friendships.

Saturday

  • Saturday afternoon the focus will be on matching information and matching tools and parents will have an opportunity to network and present their local candidates. Possibly Mr. Richard Stumpf will speak about the Three Generation Clan. Besides an ever growing move to parents matching, now there are also considerations to find matches closer by: To have both grandparent couples closely around helps the integrity of the family. More info and forms on http://familyfed.org/bfd.  The nicer forms we have seen, besides the regular data as on the forms on the web, also have a picture of the candidate, of the family and a story/bio from both the candidate and the parents or advocate.
  • Saturday night will be a presentation about how real and exciting blessed life is meant to be. This will be a very ‘real’ talk.

Sunday

  • Sunday For Young Adult Sunday School Mr. Jim Stephens will give a presentation about preparation for the most exciting Husband – Wife relationship.
  • Sunday Service will be given by Mrs. Hiromi Stephens.
  • Sunday afternoon there will be a presentation of the different ministries the BFD is offering and supporting. There will also be an opportunity to discuss and the Stephens will answer any questions that we may have.

Attached is a flier with more details. Also, couples who want to get to know other couples, mainly from Portland, will have a change to invite them for a Saturday night stay-over.

  • This is a great weekend to learn how to enlarge your family without having to raise a kid for 20 plus years and to expand your horizons regarding what’s cool and what’s hot in family life.
